O50s Friendly Team

This team has been playing matches across Cornwall against Sunday and Midweek local and touring teams for many years.

Team Manager Paul Higgins organises a comprehensive fixture list.

They are a great oppoirtunity to play on some lovely grounds, enjoy sumptious teas and get a chance for more time in the middle.

Paul is always keen to involve new players and we have a 'flexible' lower age limit so if you 45+ Paul will get you a game!

2023 Season Report:

Eleven fixtures were arranged for the 2023 season 

The friendly XI in the end played 8 fixtures with 7 lost 1 win , 3 cancellations. Elephants Nest,Falmouth Wayfarers,St.Stephens CC

Despite the losing our games we enabled few new faces to play some game’s providing some good Performances against some very talented players in the opposition teams who were clearly a lot more fitter around the outfield than we were. 

There were nevertheless some notable performances despite the results.

Best batting performances With Darren Williams. 101 not out, Tom Stephenson 89, Gordon Wint 63.and Best bowling performances with 

Martin Yelland 5-1-14-4, Varun 4-2-3-3 and Nico Christian 6-0-38-4.

2022 Season report 

Cornwall Friendly XI 2022

Eleven fixtures were  arranged for the 2022 season with new fixtures with Paddington Bears and a further three fixtures arranged by Cornwall Over 60’s an away fixture against Broadhalfpenny Brigades XI, and two fixtures home and away against Dorset over 70 XI which were administered by Cornwall over 60’s.

The Friendly XI in the end played 7 fixtures. 1 win, 2 draw,4 Lost.  There were four cancellations.Paddington Bears, Elephant’s Nest, Cheesewring and Whitchurch.

Despite the losing our games we enabled a few new faces to play some games providing some good performances against some very talented players in the opposition teams who were clearly a lot more fitter along the outfield than we were.

We had never the less some notable performances despite the results.

Lee Murray 103, Tom Stephenson 85, Anton Luiten 70 and fifties from Sam Derrick, Mike Hamilton and George Oakley.

Best Bowling performances Sam Dowrick  8 overs 6 for 62 runs.  Syd Lawrence 8 overs 4 for 11runs  Trevor Lee 4 overs 4 maidens.

Wednesday 22nd June v Truro School (time game).

Sunday 3rd July v St.Mawgan CC.

Wednesday 20th July v Falmouth Wayfarers CC.

Wayfarers 311 for 3 (Hoban 60 ,  Ticker 50). Cornwall 213 for 7 ( Murray 103 J.Tur 36,. Ticker 6 overs 2 -8, Julian 6 overs 2-35). Cornwall lost by 100 runs

Sunday 7th August v St.Stephens CC

St.Stephens 247 for 7 (Prophet 51*, Harvey 43,Raven 40, Wallace 6 overs  3-36). Cornwall 219-6 (Oakley 59*, Mill 27*). Cornwall lost by 28runs

Sunday 21st August v Roche CC. (Timed game)
