Match Pace - This is your key responsibility - we need to keep things moving a lot quicker than players are used to on a Saturday otherwise we won’t get finished. Please make sure your players have read the players briefing.
45 seconds - That’s how long the next batter in has got from the wicket falling to being ready to receive. Take any longer and they’re out! Make sure your batters know this and are padded up early
Semi-Finals - As soon as the first innings of semi A finishes semi B first innings needs to be on the field ready to start - same applies then to the second innings
Batters ‘Chats’ - be aware that umpires can deduct 10 runs from a team if the batters chats are continually holding up play so brief your batters to minimise chats - most of it makes no difference anyway!
Bowling - 10 balls from one end. Bowlers can bowl 5 or 10 balls at a time. Successive 5’s from different ends is ok - try and ensure the change of ends is quick - get the players running not idling during the changeover
Changing Fields - please don’t change the field every time someone whacks a 4 or we’ll be here until Tuesday!
Bowlers Max Deliveries - 15 in semi, 10 in Plate, 20 in Main Final (provided it is 100 balls)
No Balls and Wides count 2 runs, are replayed and are followed by a free hit. Wides are ‘Test Match’ wides so at discretion of umpires.
LBW’s - 1 per innings max in semi's and plate - 2 in final. If your bowler or whoever appeals for lbw and the umpire agrees you have 15 seconds to withdraw the appeal using the T sign. This would be a tactical decision usually to keep a slow scoring batter at the crease. Once you’ve had your lbw allocation given please don’t bother appealing it will be tedious.
Sub Fielder - if you squad is bigger than 11 you can bring on a sub at the end of any 10 ball spell. They can bowl if needed.
Drinks - if any of your team need a drink that’s fine providing play isn’t held up
