Mount Ambrose Hosts Successful Breast Cancer Charity Cricket Festival

Despite a delayed start due to wet weather, the teams took to the field in a round-robin format. The festival welcomed clubs who were either new to women’s softball cricket this year, or hoping to join the league in the near future, making it a valuable experience day for players of all levels. A touring team from Wiltshire also joined the line-up, adding to the fun and friendly competition.

Newquay CC Women Make Their Softball Cricket Debut

The women’s section was formed earlier this year after Newquay CC approached the Cornwall Cricket Board with the idea of setting up a team. To help get things started, the club hosted the popular “Crisecco” sessions, cricket with a social twist, which attracted new players and grew in numbers every week.
