Holiday Camps

Holiday Camps: What Are They and Who Are They For?

All Stars Camps

These softball camps are for children aged 5-8 who are new to cricket. Through fun, inclusive activities, kids get hands-on experience with batting, bowling, and fielding. They’ll also work on the fundamentals of movement, agility, balance, coordination, and the ABCs of the game.
Note: Each camp maintains a small group size, ensuring a coach-to-player ratio of 1:8.

Dynamos Camps

Designed for children aged 8-11, these camps are perfect for those moving on from All Stars and who already have some experience with softball cricket. The sessions continue to focus on developing batting, bowling, and fielding skills, with additional elements of game play included.
Note: Camps are limited to a 1:12 coach-to-player ratio.

Introduction to Hardball Camps

This camp is ideal for players transitioning from softball cricket (via All Stars or Dynamos) into the world of junior club hardball cricket.

  • Kit: Cornwall Cricket provides the necessary hardball kit. However, it is recommended (for boys) to purchase a personal 'box' protector available online or at sports equipment suppliers.

Club Hardball Camps

This camp is for those who have already played in a club hardball match—whether in a league or friendly setting. This ensures that coaching can focus on skill development among players of a similar level. If you haven’t played at this level, we suggest starting with the Introduction to Hardball Camps.

  • Focus: The sessions will enhance skills in batting, bowling, fielding, and wicket keeping.
  • Kit: While it’s ideal for players to have their own kit, Cornwall Cricket can provide equipment if needed. However, a personal 'box' protector (for boys) is still recommended.

Additional Information:

  • Food and Drink: Participants must bring their own food and drinks.
  • Kit for Softball Camps: All necessary equipment for All Stars and Dynamos camps is provided. We recommend that children do not bring personal equipment; Cornwall Cricket Board is not responsible for any items that may be lost.
  • Wi-Fi and Refreshments: Parents can work from the Cornwall Cricket Centre while their children are at camp. Complimentary Wi-Fi and refreshments (teas, coffees, etc.) are available.
  • Wet Weather: In the event of rain, camps will move indoors and transition to wet weather activities such as captaincy, field placements, and match reporting. We will inform you as early as possible if the camp is moving indoors or if any changes are necessary.

Feel free to join us for an exciting, skill-building cricket camp experience!
