Cornwall’s Women’s Softball League Finals Day takes place this Sunday at St Erme Cricket Club, where Redruth, Wadebridge and Werrington will battle it out for the 2025 title in what promises to be a showcase occasion for women’s cricket in the county.

Luckett Cricket Club proudly marked a historic milestone as their newly formed Women’s side made their first outing in a softball cricket fixture against local neighbours Saltash Cricket Club on August 15th.

On Sunday, the historic Wheel Eliza ground in St Austell played host to a fantastic celebration of girls’ cricket as five Under-13s teams came together for an action-packed festival of fun, skill, and sportsmanship.

Newquay Cricket Club is the latest team to be swept up in the growing Crisecco movement – a unique initiative that pairs the excitement of women’s cricket with the fun and fizz of prosecco.

Cornwall Cricket Board, in partnership with Metro Bank, proudly hosted a CPD Networking Event last Sunday, 13th July, at Beacon Cricket Club. The event ran alongside the Cornwall Women’s double-header T20 Vitality Blast fixtures against Suffolk and celebrated the passion, progress, and potential of women and girls’ cricket in the region.

A new chapter in Bude Cricket Club’s history was written this weekend as the club hosted its first-ever Women’s Festival Day at the stunning Crooklets cricket ground. The five-team softball tournament marked a significant milestone for the club and for women’s cricket in Cornwall.

Formed earlier this year from a merger of last season’s Performance and Development leagues, the new single-tier competition has already proven to be a major success. The "one league fits all" format has allowed for greater exposure, new match-ups, and travel across the county, giving players the opportunity to test themselves against a broader pool of talent.

The new system is designed to significantly expand opportunities for female cricketers across the country, providing a clear pathway for development and progression.

The final round of fixtures on February 19th saw Redruth claim crucial victories over Perranporth and Helston, before their final match was conceded, confirming their status as this year’s champions.
