Cornwall Cricket Board Hosts Women’s Club Forum to Shape the Future of the Female Game

The Cornwall Cricket Board (CCB) hosted a successful Women’s Club Forum on 2 December, bringing together representatives from across the county to support the continued development of women and girls’ cricket.

The evening was structured using an overlap system, ensuring both hardball and softball teams had the opportunity to share ideas and feedback in an inclusive environment that reflected the needs of both formats. Attendees were presented with an overview of the progress made in the female game during 2025, with comparisons to developments seen in 2024.

An open discussion followed, during which club representatives explored key themes including successes from the 2025 season, potential improvements for 2026, and the role clubs can play in further advancing the female game. The session generated vibrant debate and constructive dialogue, highlighting the passion and commitment within the women’s cricket community.

The CCB will now review the insights gathered during the forum and use them to help shape the direction of the women and girls’ pathway for the year ahead. In addition, a voting platform will be circulated to clubs before Christmas to gather formal input on proposed rule changes for the 2026 season.

The Board extends its thanks to all participants for their valuable contributions and looks forward to working collaboratively to continue progressing the female game in Cornwall.
