Werrington moved back to the top of the Jolly’s Drinks ECB Cornwall Premier League after defeating the morning leaders Truro by 6 wickets. Truro were dismissed for 152. Werrington reached the target for the loss of four wickets with Alex Smeeth making 61.
There was a thrilling finish at St Austell who beat Falmouth by just one wicket. Needing 123 to win St Austell’s last pair of Matt Lloyd and Steve Raven got the 12 required.
Grampound Road recovered to make 280 for 8 at Newquay with Alex Ridd ending on 80 not out. Lewis Sanders took 6 for 24 as Newquay were all out for 114.
Gavin Edwards scored 84 for St Just in their 208 all out at Camborne, for whom Callum Moyle took 5 for 48. After a good start Camborne collapsed to 150 all out.
Penzance remain bottom after Redruth scored 245 for 9 with Martin Strick unbeaten on 60. Penzance were all out for 134.
In County Division 1 Helston doubled their lead to 24 points after beating St Gluvias combined with Callington losing at St Minver.
