Just eight of a potential 62 games were played over the second weekend of the Bond Timber Cornwall Cricket League, following the opening weekend’s wipe-out.

With drier weather, the prospects look a little better for next weekend. Of the 67 League games scheduled 23 had been rescheduled and five cancelled leaving 39 games ‘live’ at the beginning of the week.

There were some outstanding performances in the games that were played on Saturday. In Division Two Constantine’s Scott Kellow hit the first century of the season. His 138 at Hayle included 10 sixes. Promoted Constantine went on to win by a massive 259 runs.

The Stithians openers Matt Ellis (84no) and Nathan Kendall (29no) put on an unbeaten 128 to secure a ten-wicket win in the derby at Perranarworthal. Travis Woolston made 85 not out to clinch a seven-wicket win for Perranporth at home to St Ives.

Perranporth Seconds had a remarkable win at Gulval in Division Three making 241-2 to succeed by eight wickets. This after Neil Mather made 90 for the hosts. In Division 5 at St Stephen, there were two outstanding bowling performances. Richard Budge took 7-37 for the home side before James Cawsey bowled South Petherwin to victory taking 7-17.
