The Cornwall Cricket Centre hosted the annual Lord’s Taverners Table Cricket Finals today, bringing together five of the county’s top teams for a day of high-quality and closely contested cricket. The finalists qualified through East and West semi-finals and included first-time entrants Truro College, alongside Brunel, Hayle, Brannel and Helston.

Cornwall Super 9s marked a highly successful 12 months with a well-earned celebration last weekend, bringing together players and supporters to reflect on an outstanding season.

Launched in October, the Crowdfunder reached its halfway milestone last week, unlocking additional funding and taking the total raised to over the £10,000 target. The achievement provides vital support for the team as they prepare for the upcoming season and look to defend their title as South West League champions.

The West Cornwall Table Cricket finals took place today at Penryn College, with four schools, Curnow, Penryn, Hayle, and Helston, competing for a place in the county finals.

Cornwall Cricket Board is appealing for support as it enters the final stages of its Crowdfunder campaign to make cricket fully accessible for people with disabilities. Launched in October, the campaign aims to build on the success of Cornwall’s first Disability Cricket Team and is still £8,000 short of its target ahead of its November deadline.

The campaign aims to remove financial and practical barriers so that people with disabilities across Cornwall can access competitive cricket, with the right equipment, support and opportunities to develop their skills, represent the county with pride, and be part of a thriving team. 

Cornwall’s first ever disability cricket team, the Cornwall Super 9s, have added another incredible achievement to their growing list of successes after being named winners of the BBC Make a Difference Award in the Active category.

The nomination comes in the Active category, which recognises individuals and groups who use physical activity to bring people together and make a positive impact in their communities.

The semi-final lineup featured four counties: Middlesex, Cheshire, Staffordshire, and Cornwall. Cornwall were drawn against a strong Staffordshire side.

Cornwall Cricket Board is proud to announce that the Cornwall Super 9s Disability Cricket Team has been crowned South West League Champions—an extraordinary achievement in just their second competitive season.
