Cornwall’s first disability cricket team, the Cornwall Super 9s, has secured a major boost ahead of the 2026 season after smashing its Crowdfunder target.

Launched in October, the Crowdfunder reached its halfway milestone last week, unlocking additional funding and taking the total raised to over the £10,000 target. The achievement provides vital support for the team as they prepare for the upcoming season and look to defend their title as South West League champions.

While further funding will still be required to fully support plans for the 2026 season, this successful campaign marks a significant step forward and gives the Cornwall Super 9s a strong foundation to build on.

Super 9s Coach Daniel Tonkin said: “I'd like to express our sincere gratitude for your tremendous support of our recent Crowdfunder campaign. It was a wonderful success, and we are truly humbled by the generosity shown by our community and supporters.

“This achievement means the world to our Super 9s. The funds raised will directly enable us to purchase adaptive training equipment and cover some costs of travel and supports our winter training programme . This support ensures that our team can continue to play the sport they love and participate fully in the season ahead.

“Thank you once again for making this possible. Your contribution is an investment in our team and their future success.”
