The Club Cricket Charity Calls for Support to Enhance Safety at Cricket Grounds

The Club Cricket Charity, dedicated to enhancing the safety of cricket players, officials, and spectators, is seeking the support of cricket organisations across England and Wales in their mission to provide portable defibrillators and comprehensive CPR training to cricket clubs.

The Club Cricket Charity is reaching out for support in ensuring that everyone involved in cricket can enjoy a safer experience. In the event of a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA), having trained personnel and the necessary equipment on hand can make the difference between life and death.
Over the past three years, in partnership with the ECB, they have successfully implemented The Managed Solution scheme. This initiative makes it financially feasible for cricket clubs at all levels to access life-saving defibrillators and training. Through this scheme, clubs can now acquire a portable unit for just £100.

To date, 820 clubs have been equipped with defibrillators, along with training, insurance, and post-traumatic stress counselling. Despite this, there remain over 5,000 cricket organisations within our remit that have yet to benefit from this life-saving program.
The urgent need for this initiative is underscored by the fact that 90 of these units have already been used on the field, indicating that nearly 11% of those playing in leagues may require the chain of survival.

The Club Cricket Charity are urging organisations to support this initiative. For more information on how you can help, please contact Robbie Book or Donna Black via the Charity website or directly at [email protected].
