Crowdfunder Target for Disability Team smashed!
A Crowdfunder appeal for Cornwall’s first Disability Cricket Team came to an end this week after reaching £12,716!
The Crowdfunder was launched at the end of May to raise £10k, just under half the amount needed for the project by Cornwall Cricket Board. Although the team still need to raise additional funds to cover the full £22k needed for the project, they are delighted to be over half way there as a result of the Crowdfunder.
Cornwall Cricket Board is aiming to provide those that already take part in Disability Cricket with the opportunity to be able to grow their skills further by joining the Super 9’s County Representative Team and competing across the South West.
The team demonstrated their skills at the Somerset Vs Cornwall Showcase Game on Tuesday and look forward to their first match later this month.
Disability Development Officer Painter said: The response to the Crowdfunder has been amazing. A big ‘THANK YOU’ to all those who have so generously given towards Disability Super 9s. Our players are delighted and excited for the future.
Managing Director Joe Skinner added: The Crowdfunder has been a huge success and the support shown has been amazing. We are very fortunate to have many generous supporters and we thank them for this generosity. We now have a great opportunity to deliver super 9s cricket for Cornwall which is a much needed development for Cornwall Cricket, exciting times ahead. Thank you!
