Daniel Tonkin appointed as the Cricket Centre Manager

It brings us great pleasure in confirming that Daniel Tonkin from Camborne has been appointed as the new Cricket Centre Manager for Cornwall Cricket Board.

Daniel has now officially started and is working on a part time basis during the day at the moment. But when the indoor season starts Daniel will predominantly be working evenings to support the community and other bookings.

Daniel will be responsible for the community bookings of the Centre and maximising its use throughout the year. Daniel will also be initiating activities getting people active in the game, such as the business and indoor cricket leagues, walking cricket and holiday camps.

As Daniel has just started there will be a period of understanding and patience needed for systems to be learnt. However, if people would like to get in touch with Daniel then you can do on [email protected] or 07931 795201.

"It is an exciting time again for the Cornwall Cricket Centre, whilst we would like to thank Mustafa Shaikh for the work he carried out, we welcome Daniel and we are sure he will do an excellent job for Cornwall Cricket. He comes with a wealth of experience in life and business so we are excited to have him on Board." Joe Skinner (Chief Cricket Officer)

Daniel Tonkin stated, ‘I am excited to be starting my new role at the Cornwall cricket centre.  I've been involved in cricket from a young age and have played at different levels and multiple clubs across the county. Even during a long career in the military, I still managed to fit in a game or two. Having a strong background in business and combining that with my knowledge and love of the game I'm hoping to ensure the Cornwall cricket centre will continue to be the home of Cornish cricket all year round. I aim to make the centre accessible to everyone and also hope to bring exciting new projects to the centre, like veteran sessions more disability tournaments including walking cricket matches.

If anyone wishes to discuss anything or have any feedback please contact myself via the details provided.

I thank the Cornwall Cricket Board for this opportunity and look forward to welcoming everyone to the Cornwall cricket centre. '
