School Award Winners
Cornwall Cricket is delighted to continue the School Awards Winners scheme!
We recognise and want to celebrate the fantastic work going on in our Cornish Schools!
Each half term the winning school will receive a framed certificate and bag of cricket kit to show our appreciation! We'll also announce School of the Year awards here as well!
We will share your success by developing a brief case study report to be posted onto our website and Cornwall Cricket’s Social Media platforms - with your approval.
We will also let Chance to Shine charity know of your wonderful work www.chancetoshine.org/primary-schools perhaps leading to further sharing of good practice and recognition for your school?
What makes you a winner?
A school or a teacher who in our opinion is:
- Inspiring children to be excited about cricket
- Staff teaching and encouraging pupils to play cricket
- Staff using cricket as a medium to develop pupil’s learning across the curriculum
- Developing a culture of cricket in their schools including taking part in competitions (internally and externally)
- Supporting pupils on their cricketing journey - transition from school to clubs.
Spring Term 2024 Winner - Antony CofE Primary School
Spring Term 2024 Winner - Carbeile Junior School
'Carbeile Junior School - Torpoint has been a pleasure to work with throughout this programme. The school has been welcoming and supportive of our vision in resurrecting the town's long lost Cricket Club. It's fair to say that the enthusiasm and excitement for cricket will certainly help expedite this project! Our Playground Leaders sessions have been brilliantly taken up with great effort and confidence developed which is a wonderful reflection on the school's values and behaviours. Our new leaders, along with engaged teaching staff will provide sustainability of cricket going forwards. A huge thank you from Cornwall Cricket and Chance to Shine!'
Chris Anderson - Programme Coach / Schools Development Officer.
