Hayle Cricket Club devastated by Storm Goretti
Unfortunately some really sad news #StormGoretti got the better of us on Thursday night and due to the electrical surges and high winds we suffered a significant fire which broke out at the club in the cellar destroying a lot of downstairs.
It’s early days but it looks like the whole of the downstairs is a write off and thankfully having concrete floors upstairs which has saved us.
Luckily we have 3 months until the start of the season so hopefully time to get us back up and running and work with our insurers. When we can and if required any help is always appreciated to get us ready for the season.
In the meantime the club is out of action for functions and meetings and the venue for our AGM on the 14th January will now be at Hayle RFC !!!!
Many thanks for your understanding, thanks to the National Grid and Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service for your quick response and getting the fire under control so quickly in such awful conditions, thanks to committee members for getting up the club early and here’s hoping to be ready for that first ball in April!
Soon as we have more updates on our situation we will update everyone.
