Penzance are the T20 champions of Cornwall after a thrilling tenth  WT Edwards Cup win over Callington at a sun-drenched Truro.

Penzance recovered from 76 for 7 to make 129 thanks to Player of the Match Jack Paull (44) and what was to prove a crucial 14 off the last three balls by Tom Dinnis (26no).

Earlier, they had been reduced to 38-5 in the sixth over.

Christian Purchase was bowled by Mo Danyaal (4-24) off the ninth ball of the innings.

Sammy King, after hitting Chris Dent for a straight six, was caught at deep long off in the third over to make it 19-2

46 came off the last five overs to set a target of 130.

Callington, after losing three early wickets for 19, including former Gloucestershire captain Chris Dent (4), rallied with a fourth-wicket stand of 91 from Liam Lindsay (40) and Matt Thompson (52no).

72 were required from ten overs and 43 from the last five.

However, the required rate continued to edge up and with 30 needed off three overs, and 13 off Ben Fletcher's last it proved too much as Penzance won by seven runs.

Dinnis took 3-24.

Callington were restricted to only eleven boundaries.

Penzance will represent Cornwall in the ECB Vitality Club Area T20 Finals Day at Bridgwater on Sunday 9 August with the champions of  South Wales, WEPL & Devon

Sunday 30th August   Regional Finals at Basingstoke & North Hants CC, Hampshire
