There’s a new name sponsoring one of Cornwall’s oldest and most prestigious trophies, the Hawkey Cup.
For years, it was synonymous with Clive Rosevear Insurance Services in St Austell.
Since founder Clive passed away in 2022, his son Nick carried on, but following ill health, the business has now closed.
Nick was happy to pass over stewardship of the cup to incoming sponsor Phill Lafferty on behalf of The Britannia Inn and Waves Restaurant.
Joining the duo was Cornwall Cricket League Chair Stuart Wilder, who met outside the Tregrehan-based hostelry.
The 2025 Final will be between Grampound Road and Wadebridge at St Austell Cricket Club on Wednesday 25 June at 18:00.
In the semi-finals, Wadebridge won at holders Callington by six runs, and Grampound Road had a home win over St Austell by five wickets with 16 balls to spare.
