Scorecard

Ludgvan, having last won the Davey & Gilbert West Penwith Evening League in 1991, repeated the double of that year by also winning the West Cornwall Evening Challenge. They defeated Mining Division Champions Perranarworthal by 16 runs at Redruth.

On a warm evening at Redruth having been put in Ludgvan lost openers Sam Capstick and Jacob Trudgeon with only two on the board. Ankey Bhandari made 21 but there was work to do at 40-5. Scott Stevens boosted the innings making 30 before the mandatory retirement. Will Southcott got 27 and Ryan Gendall was run out for 14 in the last over to see the total to 108-7.

In reply, Perranarworthal lost early wickets and were reduced to 41-6 in the 12th over. Greg Wallis (19) and Gary Kos (22) gave hope and two late sixes from Alistair Harding meant 17 was required off the final over. However, last man James Adams was stumped off the first ball, Opening bowlers Dan Cooke took 2-7 and Trudgeon 2-13 in their four-over spells.
