The  76th  Andrew Cup Final was a well-contested affair played out on a warm evening at Mount Ambrose. The issue went down to the final over before Redruth Thirds, including six Under 15s,  took the title by nine runs. The first time the Redruth club has won the trophy since the back-to-back wins the seconds achieved over Crofty and Troon seconds in 1990 and 1991 respectively.

After electing to bat Redruth were contained to 49-2 at the halfway mark. The innings was given a boost by Steve Parker-Billenge whose 27 off ten balls included 2 sixes. Skipper Brian Best hit three late boundaries to see 128-6 posted. Rob Eccleston took late wickets to end with 2-16 from four overs.

The Falmouth reply got off to a slow start thanks to Player of the Match Matt Bonds (4-1-7-0). His first three overs only cost four runs and Falmouth were in trouble with only 8 on the board after five overs. A recovery came with Ashley Searle hitting 2 sixes before being dismissed for 28 to make it 58-2 at the halfway mark. At 13 overs both teams had identically made 77-3. With 40 needed off four overs  William Lister helped reduce it to 20 off the last two but crucially he fell for 16. With no fielding restrictions Tom Stevens only conceded four runs off the penultimate over and Brian Best six off the last to leave Redruth winners by nine runs. Paddy Varker was left undefeated on 46 from 39 balls.

Anthony Vingoe, representing the competition sponsors Vingoe Family Law made the presentations supported by the League President Vic Hassell & Vice-Chair Robert Jobson.
