Redruth U13 win the County Club final
The Cornwall County Under 13s final was played last night, with Redruth winning a last over thriller to defend their under 13 title against Werrington. Werrington batted first with Sam Uglow and Billy Uglow both scoring unbeaten 30s in the total of 103-6, Thomas Powell taking 2 wickets. In reply Redruth were always up with the rate as Powell and Harley Stevens set a good platform before Sam Uglow took 2 wickets in 2 balls to leave the game evenly poised. It was a run a better than run a ball 31 from Jack Pengilly that swung the game in Redruth's favour as eventually the winning runs were hit with 3 balls to go in a great advert for Cornish Youth Cricket between two talented and evenly matched sides.
Redruth go forward to represent the county in the next stage of the National Cup.
Huge thanks go to Truro CC for stepping in to host at 48 hours notice rearranging a home youth game in the process. Thanks to all the team for your efforts and best of luck to Redruth in the next round.
