 At last, the Bond Timber Cornwall Cricket League enjoyed a day of hot sunshine with temperatures in the mid-twenties under cloudless skies. The leaders, Penzance, were inactive however with the home game with Callington cancelled due to covid in the opposition ranks. Truro made light work at  Grampound Road winning by ten wickets. Neil Ivamy and Kyle Van Rooyen took three wickets each to bowl the Road out for 120.  Charlie Kent (67no) and Scott Harvey (43no) knocked off the runs without being parted. There was a good encounter at Wadebridge who beat Camborne by 14 runs in a game that went to the wire. Jamie Beare hit 69 in the Wadebridge total of 219-9. Martin Jenkin took 3-45. Camborne were well in the game with Chris Gibson and Liam Weeks hitting half-centuries but James Turpin took 4-47 to deny them a fifth win in six games. Werrington made it back to back wins, and three in four, with a home win over St Just. Adam Hodgson and Ben Smeeth made fifties in the 253-6. Sri Lankan Chamikara Edirisinghe took 5-24 and then 90 as St Just ended on 212-8. There was a low scoring game at Redruth who dismissed St Austell for 114 with Craig Williams and Ravi Sembakakutty taking three wickets. Luke Johnson made 31 and Ellis Whiteford was unbeaten on 21 as the Reds got home by three wickets.

Having already beaten Helston at the Castle Field this year St Erme took the scalp of Falmouth with a two-wicket success. Callum Edgcombe took three wickets and top-scored with 29.   Redruth were bowled out for 95 at Helston.  Steve Jenkin caused the problems taking 5-8 – his third five-wicket haul in the last four league games.  His brother Dan then made 48 not out, including 10 boundaries, and Karl Leathley was dismissed for 35 as Helston won by nine wickets in the 20th over. Leaders Hayle had a bye when Werrington seconds didn’t travel due to a covid situation within the club. Hayle will receive end of season average points.  Ben Attfield hit a century for Lanhydrock and Brian Barnicoat took 5-24 in the 135 run win over St Austell seconds. There was a close game at Beacon who beat Paul by just five runs. Ben Brooks made 55 for the visitors. Jack Howarth took 5-6 and Joe Crane made 58 not out as Newquay won by ten wickets at Gorran.
