1. Business Manager

Cornwall Cricket Board is increasing its capacty to support our desire in becoming a Charitable Organisation. To support our day to day function we are looking to recruit a Busniess Manager. 

  • Full-time position, 37.5 hours (5 days) per week, hybrid based (open to PT working to suit the right candidate)

  • Permanent Contract

  • Full time salary £35,000 - £45,000

Purpose

  • Develop and maintain corporate governance frameworks, ensuring the organisation complies with the UK Corporate and Charities Governance as well as the National Governing Body, County Partnership Agreement (CPA) compliance.

  • Ensure company policies, licences, insurance documents, and compliance registers are kept updated.Cornwall Cricket Board is proud of the positive impact it makes on cricket and the wider community. 

As a Business Manager, you’ll support the Cornwall Cricket Board of directors by ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, organising effective governance frameworks and promoting transparency and accountability. To be effective, you’ll need a strong working knowledge of the laws and regulations that impact our operations.

A core part of your duties will involve acting as a key communication link between the board of directors and where relevant the company executive management team.  This role is central to maintaining effective internal processes, coordinating communication, supporting management, and contributing to a positive organisational culture.  Done well, it’s the role that will serve as the glue holding the wider team together.

2. Equity Diversity and Inclusion Officer

  • Part-Time position, 22.5 hours (3 days) per week, hybrid based

  • Two year contract

  • Salary £16,200pa

Purpose

The ambition with this role is threefold; firstly to support Cornwall Cricket Board with building relationships and network with organisations and partners so to build diversity of the organisation and team; to work with other members of the Cornwall Cricket Development team with the delivery of initiatives and programmes aimed at growing the game to under represented groups, and secondly to lead on working with clubs, leagues and associations to highlight the importance of diversity within cricket club committees, within playing offers, and to ensure good governance is in place.

The main responsibilities of this role will be:

  • Club Development Support: to provide more bespoke and holistic club development support. This will include spending time with clubs on a 1:1, small group, and/or county wide basis, focusing specifically on club plans to diversify their playing offer and committees. 

  • We will be encouraging the EDI Development Officer to develop campaigns and charters that encourage our clubs, leagues and associations to buy into the principles of inclusive and diverse governance structures.

  • Governance, Compliance and Education: As part of the club facing work, this role will support cricket clubs, leagues and associations with their governance and training, including:

    • Reviewing language of club, league and association governance documentation

    • Ensuring adoption of Anti-Discrimination Regulations across all affiliated clubs

    • Promoting and organising appropriate anti-discrimination training

    • Helping to ensure Safe and Inclusive environments within clubs and leagues.

  • Club Facing EDI Programme: Through this role we would like to expand these club facing EDI workshops as we look to promote to clubs the importance of having diverse playing offers and diverse decision making committees and processes.

  • Set up and run Women’s Volunteer, Youth and Disability Network: This role will work closely with our Women’s and Girls Development Officer to increase the number of workshops we deliver and to organise platforms for female volunteers to interact with each other, our youth and Disabled players providing a voice for them in cricket development.

  • Talent Pathway: The role will have a responsibility to ensure that all of our Talent Pathway processes, documentation and governance is as inclusive as possible. We would also see the role leading on:

    • Anti-Discrimination training and education within our talent pathway

    • Promotion of our Talent Pathway Support Fund, including looking at ways in which we can reduce stigmas and ensure appropriate take up, plus looking at ways in which any unused Support funds could be invested throughout the
