South West Cricket Coaches Enjoy R&R Day at Adrenalin Quarry Aqua Park

Coaches from the Cornwall Cricket Board, Devon Cricket Foundation, and Somerset Cricket Foundation recently swapped cricket kits for wetsuits as they gathered for a well-deserved day of rest and relaxation at the Adrenalin Quarry Aqua Park in Cornwall.

All participants deliver cricket programmes through the Chance to Shine children’s cricket charity, and after a packed summer of coaching in schools, clubs, and communities, the day offered a perfect opportunity to unwind, reconnect, and celebrate their collective efforts.

The inflatable aqua park provided plenty of thrills, spills, and laughter – with friendly competition and a few spectacular wipeouts adding to the fun. Of course, no cricket day would be complete without a quick game of ‘one hand, one bounce’, keeping the cricketing spirit alive even off the pitch.

The group rounded off the day with a relaxed lunch, sharing stories, experiences, and coaching insights from across the three counties. The event served as a reminder of the strong bonds and shared purpose that unite coaches across the South West.

Cornwall Coach, Chris Anderson said: “It was fantastic to catch up with colleagues from Cornwall, Devon, and Somerset, and to reflect on the positive impact we’ve made through cricket this summer,” said one coach. “The energy, camaraderie, and sense of community really stood out – we’re already looking forward to the next one!”

“A big thank you to everyone who took part and to Adrenalin Quarry for hosting us. We’re already looking forward to the next one!”

Cornwall Cricket Board remains committed to fostering opportunities for individuals aged 5 and above to engage with cricket across the county. As the official governing body for cricket in Cornwall, the Board is dedicated to promoting a love for the sport among players of all ages and backgrounds.
