On Friday 16th May, Brunel School proudly participated in the Southwest Table Cricket Finals, a prestigious regional event bringing together schools and teams from across the region to celebrate inclusive sport and competitive spirit.

Facing off against six other talented teams, Brunel displayed outstanding teamwork, determination, and skill throughout the day. After several hard-fought matches, they secured an impressive 4th place finish overall – a testament to their hard work and growing confidence in the sport.

While they narrowly missed out on qualifying for the next stage of the competition, Brunel’s sportsmanship and positive energy truly set them apart. One moment that captured the spirit of the day was the recognition of student Dan, who was honoured with the Spirit of Cricket Award. This special award is given to individuals who embody the core values of the sport – respect, encouragement, and fair play. Dan was commended for his enthusiastic support, not only for his own teammates but also for players from other schools, offering encouragement and uplifting words throughout the tournament.
