Cornwall Cricket Board Expands Opportunities for Girls with Free Playing Sessions

Cornwall Cricket Board (CCB) is proud to announce a significant step in its commitment to providing an all-round playing offer for women and girls. In collaboration with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), CCB has successfully delivered free cricket opportunities for girls aged 8-11, ensuring greater access to the sport.

As part of this initiative, CCB has completed 40 hours of the Girls’ Dynamos Activation Project, engaging 66 young players across Cornwall. These sessions have taken place in six key locations, including Tideford, Menheniot, Saltash, Bodmin, Truro, and Camborne, offering an inclusive and supportive environment for girls to experience and enjoy cricket.

Nick Matthews, Women & Girls Development Officer at CCB, expressed his enthusiasm for the program’s impact:
"We are delighted to see so many young girls getting involved in cricket. We look forward to watching them represent their teams in this summer’s girls’ softball festivals. Well done to everyone who took part!"

This initiative marks a vital step in growing the women and girls’ game in Cornwall, fostering a lifelong love of cricket and strengthening grassroots participation.
