It was a day of very warm and overcast conditions across the county with varying degrees of precipitation in places. Some matches were completed in full, others abandoned or some even cancelled altogether. In some cases games had completely different outcomes and were not that far apart.
The Premier Division title race took a turn in the favour of Penzance with the weather having a big say. Penzance won a DLS game at Wadebridge whilst title rivals Callington had to settle for an abandoned game at home to St Just. It meant the Penzance lead was doubled from nine to 18 points with just four games to play. Wadebridge were 96-5 off 27 overs at Egloshyale Park when the weather caused a delay. The DLS calculation meant Penzance were left with a target of 115 off 25 overs which they achieved with eight wickets and over five overs to spare with Jack Paull making 45 not out.
At Callington the visitors St Just were struggling at 55-5 when rain intervened at 14:15 in the 15th over. Ben Ellis had taken 4-33. The cut-off for a minimum 20-over game was 17.45 and with conditions unfit the umpires called the game off shortly before the mark. In contrast at Werrington, only a brief interruption saw five overs lost. St Austell were bowled out for 193 in the final over with Alex Bone top-scoring with 34. Mark Taskis and Adam Hodgson shared six wickets. Werrington’s revised DLS target was 184 from 45 overs. They ended up ten runs short with Mark Gribble making 63. Adam Snowdon took 4-33.
Elsewhere persistent and heavy drizzle saw the Camborne v Truro and Redruth v Helston games cancelled without a ball bowled.

In County Division One the title race took a twist as Beacon won at leaders Grampound Road by 31 runs in a DLS game. It ended ‘Road’s nine-match winning run while for Beacon it was an eighth successive win from games started. Both have six games to play with Grampound Road’s lead cut to 14 points. Beacon had made a good start at 74-0 off 16.2 overs when a three-hour rain delay set in. When play resumed at 17:40 the minimum of 20 overs was able to be played. Beacon ended on 105-4 but because of not having lost any wickets and denied 30 overs when the rain came the Grampound Road DLS target was raised to 166 from 20 overs. Ben James continued his good form with 53 while Ravi Karunarathna took 4-20 and made 33 for the hosts.
The only game completed elsewhere was at Hayle who made 162 against Falmouth, for whom Duncan Ayres took 5-32. Harry Roberts hit 48 in the Falmouth reply and with two needed off the final ball a run-out meant the game was tied. Falmouth, however, took a vital 15 points to increase the gap above the relegation zone to 25 points.
The Newquay v Camborne Seconds and Penzance Seconds v Wadebridge Seconds games both failed to pass fifteen overs.
Paul v St Erme and Roche v Mullion were both cancelled without a ball bowled.
Mullion (181) are 17 points ahead of trouble but has played a game more than Wadebridge (164), Roche (164), Camborne (149) and Penzance (70).
