On a day of welcome sunshine, all five home teams won in round ten of the Bond Timber Cornwall Cricket League Premier Division. Penzance continue to lead Callington by 16 points after both teams had convincing wins. Grant Stone made 81 in their 225-7 at home to Truro who were dismissed for 128 with Giles Lawrence taking three wickets. South African Liam Lindsay dominated the Callington innings hitting 126 at home to Camborne. Requiring 234 Camborne were shot out for 76 with Aidan Libby picking up 5-23. Redruth only made 99 at Wadebridge after Elliot Dunnett took 4-26. James Turpin then made 38 not out in the six-wicket win. Werrington also enjoyed a comfortable success beating Helston by eight wickets. Lance Alberts, Steve and Dan Jenkin all got thirties as Helston made 150. Ben Smeeth took 3-21. Werrington were 11-2 but  Vithanage Dilshan (90no) and  Adam  Hodgson (37no) shared an unbroken stand of 140 with victory coming in the 33rd over. At the bottom, just two points separate St Just, Camborne and Helston after St Just beat St Austell by three wickets. Gareth May made 37 not out to steer them to 141 and their second win of the season.

Penzance won the WT Edwards Cup for the ninth time and fifth in the seven finals since 2017. Following a bright start conditions deteriorated to an overcast and cool evening at Truro Cricket Club. Callington won the toss but were contained to 40 in the six-over powerplay for the loss of Aidan Libby (22).  Having been 70-1 at the halfway mark Kian Burns was dismissed shortly after for 32. Graham Wagg was stumped off Andrew Libby for nine and Matthew Shepherd was lbw next ball. Liam Lindsay went on to hold the innings together before being dismissed in the last over for 59 including 2 sixes and 7 fours off 44 balls.

Requiring 150 Christian Purchase and Ben Seabrook (36) added 57 for the first wicket inside six overs. Purchase was caught and bowled by Ben Ellis off the first ball of the eleventh over with 93 on the board. Player of the Match Dylan Blignaut (42no) and Grant Stone (34no) comfortably chased down the target with eight wickets and 14 balls to spare.

Grampound Road has reached the National Village Cup Quarter-Finals following their five-wicket win over Horspath on Sunday. Skipper Tom Orpe hit 56 not out to reach the 128 target after they had been 74-5. Next Sunday they entertain Gloucestershire’s Painswick for a place in the last four.

Grampound Road continue to lead County Division One after a three-wicket home win over Hayle with Chris Roberts and Alex Lean both making 64. Tom Sharp held the Hayle innings together with 56. Newquay made short work of bottom side Penzance Seconds bowling them out for 62 and gaining an eight-wicket win. Ben James (122) and brother Sam (65) put on 176 for Beacon’s first wicket at Mullion in their 311-6. Mullion were all out for 163. Paul also had an emphatic win at home to Falmouth dismissing them for 117. Ben Brooks (57no) and  Ross Williams (40no) reached the target without being parted. Kyle Van Rooyen made 115 as St Erme won at Camborne Seconds by seven wickets. Wadebridge Seconds won by 79 runs at Roche with Sam Richards making 60 and Steve Gunner taking four wickets.
