Redruth top the Bond Timber Cornwall Premier Division, but only three points cover the top four who all won on Saturday. Redruth had a close call at Helston winning by one wicket with 13 balls to spare. In a tense finish, they lost three wickets getting the final two runs. Opener Billy Taylor made 76 as Helston totalled 204 all out off the final ball. Alec Macinnes took 3-27. Dulash Udayangan with 94 looked to be steering Redruth to a comfortable win before he was out at 203-7 to set up a nervy finish. Lance Alberts took 3-47.

Wadebridge did the double over Penzance last year but it was a different story at St Clare this time where the home side won emphatically by eight wickets with six overs to spare. Former Callington player Fred Wilkinson top scored with 53 for Wadebridge before being run out. Requiring 188 Christian Purchase (32) and Jack Paull (40) put on 76 before both fell in quick succession. Ben Seabrook (52no) and Grant Stone (48no) then completed victory with an unbroken third-wicket stand of 100.

St Austell narrowly defeated Werrington by six runs at Wheal Eliza. Mike Bone made 34 and Adam Snowdon 33. They made 198 after the first six wickets fell for 102. Werrington were 100-5 themselves but John Moon made 61 before being seventh out at 171. From 190-7 with nine balls to go the last three wickets fell for two runs. Snowdon removed Nick Lawson and Dan Barnard in successive balls before Connor Cooke conceded just a bye in the final over.

Callington recorded a rare win at St Just after scoring 254 with Graham Wagg making 81 and Liam Lindsay 70. Former St Just bowler Ben Ellis then took 4-22 as St Just replied with 162. Skipper Gareth May made 47.

Truro moved off the bottom at the expense of Camborne with a ten-run win at Boscawen Park. Charlie Kent (47) and Adam Price (44) made the bulk of Truro’s 133. From 109-3, the innings collapsed thanks to Jacob MacDonald’s 6-18 from nine overs. After Josh Fontana made 38 Truro’s Amir Yamin took over to win the game taking 7-39 as victory came with over 16 overs to spare.

In County Division 1 Grampound Road’s lead was maintained thanks to  Ravi Karunarathna who rescued the innings at Beacon. The Road were 57-5 but the Sri Lankan made 124 before being run out off the final ball of the innings at 270-8. Jordan Thomas made 63 in the Beacon reply of 219-9. Newquay remain five points behind after winning at Camborne Seconds by six wickets. Thirties from Toby Chilingworth and Michael Harding saw them to the 179 target after opener Jake Symons top-scored with 44 for the hosts.

Paul made it wins for the top three with a 27-run success at St Erme. Kieran Bowden made 64 before Damon Nicholls and Matthew Skewes both hit 23 in what proved to be a crucial 43-run stand for the eighth wicket. Dylan Smith took 4-19. Needing 169 St Erme were 74-7 before Spencer Wilcock (35) and Sean Hooper (36no) added 62 for the eighth wicket. Opening bowler Michael Fitchett had superb figures of 10-3-9-5 and Nicholls knocked over the tail to end with 4-29.

Hayle are up to fourth after two former county players pulled the strings at Falmouth. Tom Sharp was bowled on the final ball of the innings for 95 with Paul Lello unbeaten on 57. The pair added 113 for the fourth wicket in the 255-4. Overseas player Will Hocquard made 82 as Falmouth were bowled out for 171 in the 48th over. James Franklin took 4-41.

Following their Bradley’s Vinter Cup win over St Just Mullion completed a good week with a seven-wicket win over Roche at Garro Lane. After Martin Duck took four wickets Michael Blanks was unbeaten on 72 in the 137-3. In the bottom of the table clash Penzance Seconds made 138 all out at Wadebridge Seconds. Wilf Bartlett opened with 33. Sam Richards made 42 for the hosts who won by seven wickets with 26 overs to spare.

On Sunday Grampound Road progressed to the National Rounds of the Voneus Village Cup at the expense of St Erme. Chris Roberts hit 128 not out sharing a fourth wicket stand of 162 with Tom Orpe (59). In reply to 243-5 St Erme were bowled out for 174.
