A dramatic final day in the Bond Timber Cornwall Premier League sees Truro facing relegation from the top flight for the first time, having been founder members in 1905. The Cornwall Cricket League, following ECB guidance, marked the passing of Queen Elizabeth II with a minute’s silence at all matches and flags flown at half-mast. The day began with only five points separating three clubs at the bottom but Truro’s fate was virtually sealed when they were dismissed for only 75 against St Austell at Boscawen Park, after electing to bat. Adam Snowdon did the early damage (4-19), Jonty Leadbeater took 3-13 and Andrew Libby bowled a miserly spell of 10-7-4-3. St Austell knocked off the runs before 5 pm for the loss of four wickets. With a haul of just two bonus points, Truro were thus ensured the bottom spot as Werrington and Callington had already picked up bowling bonus points. Both went on to win their games on the road. Redruth made 170-9 at home to Werrington with Sam Wyatt making 55. In a rare game, former Werrington captain Paul Smith made 42 in the two-wicket victory. Callington bowled Camborne out for 139 at Roskear and went on to win by three wickets with Rumesh Buddhika making 38. Jamie Goldsworthy top scored with 32 and took three wickets for the hosts who ended fourth in the table. The champions Penzance ended in style making 323-7 at Wadebridge. Christian Purchase made 94, Jack Paull 84 and Ben Seabrook was 83 not out. Purchase then took 6-42 to bowl the hosts out for 154. They have been overtaken by St Just who are runners up to Penzance but 47 points adrift. Max Waller made 47 in their 129 with Dan Lello taking 4-15. Hayle made 111 in reply with Sam Mycock completing a successful season with 47.

The main issue in County Division One on the final day was who would join Werrington seconds in the drop zone. Lanhydrock ensured their safety with a 96-run win at Mullion after making 205. Allian Ashby took five wickets to bowl Mullion out for 109. They would have been safe in any event as Callington seconds failed to win at home to Falmouth with Harry Roberts making 61 not out in the eight-wicket win. Falmouth ended with four maximum points wins in a row to end in sixth – their highest position for the season. Champions Helston won by seven wickets at Beacon chasing 107 to win the title by 57 points. Grampound Road moved one point ahead of Beacon to finish runners-up thanks to a 93-run home win over Redruth seconds with Tom Orpe making 82 and Connor Cooke 70. Paul finished fourth and ended with a 55-run win at Newquay for whom Grant Stone made 68 in a losing cause. Werrington's seconds ended a disappointing season with a second consolation win, beating St Erme at Ladycross by two wickets.

Elsewhere five titles were won on the final day. Roche secured Division 2 East with a 49-run win at Tintagel to be the only unbeaten team in the League. They meet Penzance seconds in Saturday’s county final at Veryan. The division 3 final will see Hayle seconds take on St Minver at Redruth. Pencarrow won the division four east with victory at Grampound Road. They will meet Gerrans, at Lanhydrock, who made no mistake in the west winning by ten wickets at Paul. In Division 5 Camborne thirds will play St Minver seconds at St Stephen. St Day clinched division 6 central and take on St Austell fourths at St Gluvias. Rosudgeon & Kenneggy were confirmed the West winners with a final day concession but missed out on a final on average points
