Both the Premier League & County Division One leaders lost for only the second time in their league campaigns this season but Penzance and Helston remain on course to take the respective titles.

Penzance require a maximum of 29 points from their last three games and could be crowned champions on Saturday if they beat Hayle and St Just come unstuck at St Austell. Penzance narrowly lost at St Just in the derby on Saturday by four runs. Neil Curnow (50) and Gareth May (30) put on 64 for St Just’s first wicket. Chammy Edirisinghe made a useful 29 not out to get the total to 172. After losing three wickets for 21 Ben Seabrook (38) and  Tom Wells (34) added 55 for the fourth wicket but with Edirisinghe taking 5-29 off ten overs St Just scraped home with five overs remaining. Wadebridge moved up to third after a two-wicket home win over St Austell. Michael Harding dominated for the visitors making exactly 100 before being run out in their 184-4. He added 88 for the fourth wicket with Jonty Leadbeater who made 35 not out. After four wickets fell for 83 Matt Jolliffe (46) and Kelvin Snell (40no) played key innings to see Wadebridge to victory with nine balls to spare. Camborne dropped to fourth after losing the derby at home to Redruth by 60 runs. Karl Leathley hit 83 as Redruth were dismissed in the final over for 216 with Daniel Stephens taking 4-24. After opener, Steve Richards made 34 the Camborne innings subsided to 85-6 and with Craig Johnson ending with 5-28 the home side were dismissed for 156 in the 43^rd over. There was a vital win for Callington in their bid to avoid the drop with a convincing success at bottom side Truro. Ryan Brown made 52 as Callington posted 222 with Neil Ivamy taking four wickets. Truro were reduced to 38-5 and were all out for 113 with Blaze Eigenmann and Rumesh Buddhika sharing six wickets. Werrington’s fourth straight defeat sees them just 12 points ahead of Truro in ninth spot. Dan Lello made 135 and Sam Mycock 84 as Hayle hit 300-5 at the Towans. Werrington were dismissed for 162 with Max Jenkin taking 5-20.

In County Division One Helston lost by eight wickets at Mullion to end a 16 game winning run. They were bowled out for 142 with Dan Jenkin making 59. Ryan Pascoe led the Mullion reply with a half-century. Beacon won a low-scoring game at Newquay after being dismissed for 123. Jordan Thomas then took 5-15 to bowl the home side out for 102. Harry Gregory made 79 to set up a 70-run win for Grampound Road against Lanhydrock, who are only eight points ahead of Callington seconds in the race to avoid the second relegation spot. Callington lost by 27 runs at home to Paul. Werrington seconds, who are yet to win, were confirmed as finishing bottom following a 123-run home defeat by Falmouth for whom James Tomlinson made 97. St Erme won by two wickets at Redruth seconds with Tom Stevens making 85 for the hosts.

St Minver seconds have won Division 5 East.

St Austell fourths have won Division 6 East.
