Penzance remain on course to retain their Bond Timber Premier League title after taking maximum points at Werrington. They maintain a 42-point lead over Wadebridge and St Just with five games remaining. Penzance hit 259-6 at Ladycross with Greg Smith and Antony Angove hitting half centuries and Tom Wells made 33 on his return from injury. Werrington were all out for 144 with Ali Usman taking four wickets to add to his 32 not out. Wadebridge successfully chased 216 at Redruth to win by three wickets with Matt Robins making 90. Karl Leathley got 51 for the home side. St Just comprehensively won at Callington by 147 runs to increase the home side’s relegation worries. Philip Nicholas made 80 to steer St Just to 236. The St Just attack shared the wickets as the home side were dismissed for only 89. Camborne gained a dramatic home win over bottom side Truro by just three runs. Rob Harrison was amongst the wickets again (3-22) to dismiss Camborne for 137. Truro struggled to 89-8 but the experienced Harrison and Neil Ivamy added 44 for the ninth wicket. Just when it looked like a vital win would be gained Cephas Zhuwao had Ivamy caught for 23 and in the same over trapped last man Joel Brierley to leave Harrison undefeated on 23. Earlier Martin Jenkin bowled a fine ten-over spell taking 4-16. At St Austell Michael Harding made 56 for the home side as they made 226 against Hayle. Adam Snowden got a useful 35 not out to see the 200 up. Paul Lello top scored with 37 for Hayle with Jonty Leadbeater taking 5-27 in the 68-run win.

Helston’s advantage in County Division 1 has increased to 48 points. They easily beat bottom side Werrington seconds by eight wickets while Grampound Road won at Beacon to move up to second. Dan Warring made 61 for Werrington but an unbeaten 65 from Dan Jenkin saw Helston ease to victory. Beacon were reduced to 56-6 against Grampoud Road with Lewis Sanders taking four wickets. Dan Wells made 62 to get the total to 166 but Tom Orpe’s unbeaten 91 saw the ‘Road’ win in style. A high-scoring game at Lanhydrock saw Dylan Grinker make 94 for the home side in their 297-8. John Richardson hit 126 as Falmouth were all out for 250. Runs also at Newquay with the home side making 278 and Callington seconds replying with 259. Lachlan Mark made 121 for Mullion in their 322-9 at St Erme who were dismissed for 145. Paul bowled Redruth seconds out for 114 at Hutchens Park and went on to win by six wickets.

St Just lost their Vitality Club T20 Area semi-final against Newport at Bridgwater on Sunday. St Just were missing professional Max Waller who was playing in the Royal London Cup for Somerset at Bristol against Gloucestershire. Having lost Gareth May and Neil Curnow, with only seven on the board, seven batsmen got into double figures to post a useful 158-8. Steve Kevern hit 33, Philip Nicholas 21 and Dominic Angove 18 not out. Glamorgan's Callum Taylor, playing for his hometown club, dominated to hit 107 off 43 balls with 11 sixes and 7 fours. He was fifth out at 135.  Two late wickets fell as the Welsh side got home by three wickets with five balls to spare. Newport lost to Devon’s Bradninch in the final.
