On the plus side, Troon have been readmitted and Hayle, Lanhydrock, Perranporth and Penzance are fielding new 3rd XIs.
In confirming their League sponsorship Shaun, manager from Bond Timber said, “We are thrilled to continue supporting cricket with a fourth season of sponsorship with the Cornwall Cricket League. We wish all the teams an excellent season and look forward to seeing the weekly results!”
The Premier season again starts with a T20 competition over the first four Saturdays with two pool games against the same opponent, starting at noon and 3.10 pm. Holders Callington visit Camborne. in a cross pool game. In Pool A Redruth play newly promoted Hayle and St Just host Penzance. In Pool B Truro play St Austell and Wadebridge take on Werrington.
The County Division One season sees all the rules aligned with the Premier League for the first time to include Duckworth Lewis, Powerplays and the Bowling of Fast Short-pitched Deliveries regulations.
The newly-promoted teams are both at home. Callington seconds host Lanhydrock and Mullion entertains Paul. Elsewhere, Beacon host St Erme and former Premier League sides Grampound Road and Falmouth meet each other. Newquay plays Helston and Werrington seconds hosts Redruth seconds.
Divisions 2 & 3 have reduced the overs per bowler from 25% to 20%. The maximum in 45 over games will therefore be nine overs per bowler. Also, a limit has been introduced of a maximum of two loan players and two dual-registered players in any one match in Division 2 and below.
