Sunday the 23rd saw Redruth U11s play Werrington U11s in the County Final held at Wadebridge Cricket Club. The sun shone and an excellent game of cricket. The standard of play was exceptional.

Playing on a good surface allowed the bowlers to get bounce and carry that allowed the batters to play off the front and back foot. There was some excellent shots and bowling performances, but there was also the commitment and quality in the field, so brilliant catching and ground fielding.

Redruth batted first and set a competitive score of 126 in their 20 overs. In reply, Werrington needed 8 runs of the last over and on the second to last ball the winning runs were scored with a well hit four through mid off.

The game was played in excellent spirit between the two teams and there is a bright futures to both sets of players.

Well done and congratulations to both teams for reaching the final and well done to Werrington CC for being County Champions for 2021.
