NCCA Report

Cornwall were shot out for 103 after they opted to bat first in a 42-over-a-side contest with off-spinner George Tait taking four for 20.

Sussex left-hander Harrison Ward then pummelled 45 from 27 balls and dominated an opening partnership of 60 with Freddie Smith which gave Oxfordshire a flying start to their chase. After Ward departed, Smith remained to secure an eight-wicket victory inside 18 overs and finished unbeaten on 40.

In the final group game on Sunday, Cornwall travel to Buckinghamshire, who top the group with three wins. For Cornwall to qualify as runners-up, they not only need to win big to improve net run rate, but also hope that Wales defeats Oxfordshire, for a three-way tie, but both currently have a superior net run rate than Cornwall.
