NCCA T20 Finals Day

Sunday 21 May         NCCA T20 Finals Day at Tring Park

The Final

Cornwall v Staffordshire  16:30

Cornwall won the toss and will field        Scorecard

Cornwall joined the MCCA in 1904, ten years after Staffordshire and this was the first-ever meeting.

There was heartbreak for Cornwall’s cricketers at Tring  when they narrowly lost the NCCA T20 Final by just four runs to Staffordshire.

Excellent bowling meant they required a modest 120 to win the title for the first time.

However, they fell just short after needing 11 off the final over with the last pair at the crease.

In the semi final Hertfordshire made 117 all out with Cornwall reaching the target with five wickets and almost four overs to spare.

Staffordshire knocked out Berkshire after making a mammoth 252 for 2.

Cornwall start their 50 over Trophy campaign with  Devon the visitors to Truro next Bank Holiday Monday.

Final : Staffordshire 119 (18.1) NO Priestley 57, LJ Hurt 20; TG Sturgess 3-36, TJ Dinnis 2-14, CBF Purchase 2-16, MM Tryfonos 2-24) beat Cornwall 115-9 (JP Phillips 32; NO Priestley 4-27, LJ Hunt 2-29) by four runs.
