Cornwall and Devon shared the honours at Werrington each narrowly winning a game in the NCCA T20 Competition. Cornwall scored 149 in both games, losing the first by one run and winning the second by three wickets, with just three balls to spare. Paul Smith took over the captaincy after Scott Harvey pulled out through injury with Alex Bone called up to keep wicket. Devon made 150-5 in the first game with Callum Haggett top-scoring with 36. Tommy Sturgess took 2-24 and professional Ateeq Javid sent down four overs of spin taking one for 17. Javid held the Cornwall reply together making 55 before being sixth out at 131. Seven were needed off the final over but after hitting a boundary Ben Ellis was caught off the penultimate ball. Bone came in but found Dan Goodey at mid-off to be run out at the as Devon got home by one run.
In the second game Javid took 3-27 as Devon got to 148-8 with James Horler making 50. Javid completed a good day with 60 but from 132-2, with three overs remaining, five wickets fell for 11 runs. Six were needed off the last over but Bone secured the win with three balls to spare.
In a competition double-header weekend Cornwall have a bye on Sunday before taking on Wiltshire at Salisbury on Bank Holiday Monday.

Devon (2) beat Cornwall by one run.

Cornwall (2) beat Devon by three wickets.
