Three Cornish County Age group players get awarded a travel grant

19th June 2020 Posted in Board and Latest and Uncategorised and Youth by Joe Skinner

The Brian Johnston Memorial Trust have awarded travel grants to support travel expenses to Rebecca Odgers, Keesan Stewart and Solly Hicks.

Rebecca Odgers, has to travel all over the South West for regional training camps and at times up to Loughborough for development sessions, so this will help her continue to develop as a player and be part of the next level.

Keesan Stewart and Solly Hicks, both from the IOS, have to fund their travel to and from the islands to enable them to take part in training and the match programme, so this will help them both continue to play the game which they love.

Rebecca Odgers said, “ It is fantastic to receive a grant from the Brian Johnston Memorial Trust. It will be extremely helpful with my cricket training and development. Huge thanks to Cornwall Cricket for their help in pursuing this for me”

Keesan said about the grant award;
“We are delighted and very grateful to have received a travel grant from the Brian Johnston Memorial Trust. It will be invaluable in going towards the costs for Keesan to travel from Scilly to training sessions with Cornwall Cricket in Truro.”

Solly stated, “A big thank you for the grant which will really help with travel costs from Scilly to Cornwall so that I can keep going to the amazing cricket coaching at Cornwall Cricket – I really love it – it’s a great opportunity to really improve my cricket skills!
