In the Unicorns T20 competition yesterday Cornwall’s cricketers won one game and lost one against Dorset at St Austell, with both decided in the last over.
Dorset won the first game by five wickets, with four balls to spare, after being set 117.
In the second game Dorset made 136 for 5. Cornwall needed 11 off the final over and won the game by five wickets with a two off the final ball.
It means Cornwall still have a chance of topping the group and making it to Finals Day in August.
They must beat Wiltshire in both games in a fortnight’s time and need Wales, skippered by former Cornwall professional Brad Wadlan, to defeat Devon for the group to be decided on run rate.
Elsewhere yesterday Cornwall Over 50s beat Somerset by 51 runs at Launceston with Jim McKenna making 80.
and Wadebridge were beaten by nine wickets in the National Club Championship by Clevedon.
Taylor Gerry hit 110 not out as the Under 14’s beat Dorset at Truro by six wickets
