Saturday 7 July 2018 Fixtures
The League Executive have closely monitored the reaction from players and clubs following England’s FIFA World Cup qualification on Tuesday evening against Colombia, and the resultant Saturday afternoon quarter-final fixture against Sweden at 3pm.
As a League Committee we understand we need to be dynamic and flexible to move with the events that happen around us and not rigid and restrictive.
We are managing a league in which the majority of players are sporting people and want to support the national team.
Therefore the League has considered the feedback and further updated the guidelines for the Saturday 7 July fixtures to give every Cornish cricketer the opportunity to watch the England game live on Saturday afternoon.
In 2013 Premier League Clubs voted in the rule 188.8.131.52 : There shall be no re-scheduling of any matches in the Premier League.
Having already utilised the spare August Bank Holiday Monday, by moving the waterlogged Saturday 21st April games en bloc, there are no other spare days available for another such move. The League do not have the right to enforce games to be moved andplayed en bloc on a Sunday, and Cornwall CCC still have five Championship Sundays, going into September. The rule was specifically voted in by Premier clubs to ensure all clubs played on the same day with full squads to select from and a team gaining an advantage playing when others are not.
Taking into account that Duckworth Lewis will not be required on Saturday, with a dry and sunny forecast predicted, the League will follow the adopted Devon Premier CrcicketLeague guidelines as follows:
Matches can be brought forward to 11.00am and the game must be completed by 8.00pm. Matches remain at 50 overs a side. Intervals to be flexible with times and lengths as agreed by captains. Match Officials must be informed of any alterations to start times as soon as possible. Duckworth Lewis Rules still apply however, should the need arise.

Previous agreements between clubs this week may be revised.
Divisions 2-7 – as previously notified

or Matches may start as early as mutually agreed and a minimum of 20 overs per side. The interval rule (12.3) is waived and can be as long as clubs wish, and taken whenever agreed by the captains.
