The weather again had a major effect on the Cornwall Cricket League yesterday.

Matches 69, Won 0, Abandoned 21, Cancelled 48, Conceded 0


In the LWC Drinks ECB Cornwall Premier League four of the five games did start but all were abandoned in the first innings.


Falmouth were 76 for 6 at St Just.


Penzance 34 for 2 at home to Redruth


St Austell 112 for 3 at home to Grampound Road and


Truro 196 for 5 at Werrington.


Hayle versus Helston was cancelled


At the top the Penzance lead over St Just has been cut to just two points.



In County Division 1 only two games started and both were also abandoned


Roche were 131 for 6 at home to  Lanhydrock


Gorran were 175 for 5 at St Minver


The games at Camborne, Ludgvan, Newquay and Rosudgeon were all cancelled.


Today’s Cricket


Following an early morning pitch inspection at Redruth the Eden Motor Homes Division 2 T20 Finals day has been postponed to the 13th August due to a waterlogged ground.


Cornwall are due to start a three day Unicorns Championship game with Herefordshire at Penzance at 11am.


The Penzance club are at Shapwick & Polden Cricket Club in Somerset to play Newport in the NatWest Club T20 Championship Area semi-final, scheduled for 1pm
