WERRINGTON remain top of the LWC Drinks Premier League but they had to work hard before winning at ST AUSTELL by three wickets. With three games to play they lead Truro by nine points ahead of tomorrow’s clash at Ladycross. Penzance are 11 points off the pace in third and host St Austell tomorrow before the visit to Werrington on Saturday.

In County 1 Helston beat Lanhydrock and lead Beacon by 19 points with two games to play. Troon are 30 points behind but have a game in hand tomorrow and play Helston on Saturday. At the bottom Launceston were the only winners in the bottom six bowling out Gorran for just 18 with remarkably ten visiting batsmen failing to score.

 

St Austell made 168 for 7.

Werrington were 108 for 7, after losing 6 wickets for just 2 runs, but won thanks to  Tom Lyle and Tom Dinnis who put on an unbroken 64 for the eighth wicket.

Callington were all out for 99 at home to Truro who eased to an eight wicket win at 104 for 2.

St Just made 205 for 8 in the derby at home to Penzance who won by five wickets making 209 for 5. Brad Wadlan was 84 not out.

There was a close finish at Wadebridge as the home side beat Redruth by one wicket.

Redruth made 225 for 9 and Wadebridge responded with 227 for 9 with 10 balls to spare.

Falmouth recovered well at home to Camborne with Harry Roberts  making 99 and Richard Kellow 104, adding 159 for the sixth wicket.

They ended on 293-9. Camborne were bowled out for 131.

 

In County Division 1 the top five teams all won with only Launceston of the relegation threatened clubs recording a remarkable win over Gorran.

The results were

Helston 224 all out beat Lanhydrock 123 all out

Redruth 213 for 8 lost to Beacon 214 for 3

Newquay 100 all out lost to Troon 102 for 5

Rosudgeon 332 all out beat St Erme 129 all out

Werrington seconds 213 for 8 beat Roche 43 all out

Launceston 187 all out beat Gorran 18 (EIGHTEEN) all out

 

Today Penzance host Sussex side Roffey in the Vitality Club T20 Regional final where a result must be achieved.

If no play is possible  there will be  a bowl out or toss of a coin.

Play is scheduled to start at 3pm.

The Eden Motorhomes Division 2 T20 Finals Day at Redruth has been postponed.
