TRURO are the LWC Drinks ECB Cornwall Premier League Champions after beating ST JUST in front of a big crowd at Boscawen Park.

They had to win the game, and better St Just by nine points to take the title. They managed both after making 273 for 5 with Tom Sharp scoring 72.

St Just were all out in the gathering gloom for 183. Truro took 20 points and St Just six. Had the rain, which arrived in mid evening, or bad light forced an abandonment then St Just would have taken the title.


Penzance finished third after a nine wicket win at Helston.

Needing 196 Antony Angove made 105 not out.The scores elsewhere were

Werrington 176 all out lost to St Austell 177 for 9  by one wicket.

Hayle 101 all out lost to Falmouth 105 for six  by four wickets.

Redruth 147 all out beat Grampound Road 125 all out by 22 runs.


In County Division 1, with one game to play, Wadebridge and Camborne are guaranteed finishing in the top two and Lanhydrock are safe.

The results were

Roche 186 for 7 lost to Wadebridge 188 for 6

Newquay 149 all out lost to Lanhydrock 150 for 6

Camborne 258 for 8 beat St Minver 146 all out

Ludgvan 81 all out lost to Callington 82 for 1

Rosudgeon conceded to Werrington as did Troon to Gorran.
