 Redruth’s and Penzance extend lead at top of the Premier League as Truro and Werrington lose.

69 Matches –  64 Won, 2 Conceded, 3 Cancelled – first cancelled of the season.

Redruth and Penzance have opened up a gap at the top of the Bond Timber Cornwall Premier League after both won yesterday.

Redruth won narrowly by one wicket at Wadebridge after chasing down the home sides 180. Christian Purchase made 92.

Tom Wells hit 136 not out as Penzance made the big total of 295 for 6 at home to Werrington who responded with 205 for 9.

St Austell beat Truro by 3 wickets in a low scoring game at Wheal Eliza.

Truro were bowled out for 83 and St Austell made 84 for 7.

Grampound Road won by four wickets at Callington after the home side were bowled out for 110 in a 40 over game.

There were rain breaks in both innings at Falmouth where St Just won by four wickets.

Falmouth made 139 for 8 in 44 overs.

St Just’s Duckworth Lewis target was reduced to 115 in 31 overs.


In County Division 1 leaders Camborne beat neigbours Troon but Beacon and Redruth seconds both lost. The results were

Camborne beat Troon by four wickets.

Werrington seconds beat Beacon by 90 runs.

Helston beat Redruth seconds by one wicket.

Rosudgeon beat St Austell seconds  by 126 runs

Lanhydrock beat Gorran by six wickets and

Ludgvan beat Launceston by four wickets in a match reduced to 34 overs.


Today Cornwall play Dorset in T20 games at Wimborne and Cornwall Women are in action in Berkshire the Cornwall Over Fifties in Wiltshire.

At home Truro play Wadebridge in the Royal London Cup and Roche play Lanhydrock in the Village Cup.
