A magnificent attendance of fifty young girls, many of them new to the game, enjoyed a day of cricket skills and games with CCB coach Jack Mingo and some star visitors from the ‘Western Storm’ Super League squad. The team plays at Taunton and Bristol and represents the south-west counties in the Kia Women’s Super League. Cornwall’s own Nicole Richards is part of the squad and she was in Truro, helping out at the girls’ camp. Head Coach Trevor Griffin played a full part, along with five players, including New Zealand World Cup player Holly Huddleston. Girls from all over Cornwall had signed up to the event, which had to be moved indoors from Truro CC, due to the wet weather.
CCB organisers were so delighted with the day that another one has been arranged for Friday 18 August, at Truro Cricket Club. This will feature just warm-up games and a soft ball tournament: teams will be picked from all those who turn up on the day. The new event will be available to all girls aged 7-13 at the reduced cost of just £10. Please register for this event HERE
