As part of the new County Partnership Agreement finalised with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). Cornwall Cricket have been allocated the funding to implement a new structure which includes a full time performance manager and increased professional support for the player Pathway.
Chief Cricketing Officer Joe Skinner finalised the plans with the ECB last week and said “The new agreement has already created exciting opportunities for Cornwall Cricket and it will continue to allow us to provide positive experiences for players, volunteers and families to engage and enjoy cricket.”
The County Age Group programme for girls and boys will now come under the responsibility of a new performance section of Cornwall Cricket, led by Performance Director Andrew Jones and Performance Manager Chris Hunkin. A new Performance Executive Committee will be formed from volunteers and professional staff to oversee the County Age Group winter and summer match programmes for all current age groups, along with all the elements currently delivered by the CSCA, such as the Kings Festivals, tours and end of year player awards.
This transition has been possible as a consequence of the ECB’s Inspiring Generations Strategy which Cornwall Cricket has aligned its Strategic plan 2020-2024 with.
This is an exciting time for Cricket in the County and development as a whole. Cornwall Cricket are confident that the players, families and all the volunteers involved within the Performance Pathway will remain having an excellent experience.
