ECB Update - Covid-19
We have shared a number of updates with you over previous weeks and hope that you have found the information useful. This week’s update is shorter than normal with information on the return of domestic cricket, recommendations for bad weather and a reminder of the new ECB Resource Hub login functionality.

The Return of Domestic Cricket

All 18 First-Class Counties will be in action when the new men’s red-ball competition, the Bob Willis Trophy, begins on Saturday.

The Bob Willis Trophy has been created as a one-off first-class competition for this summer to ensure red-ball cricket, and provide every county with the opportunity to progress to a five-day final at the end of the summer.

Here is a quick breakdown of everything you need to know about the Bob Willis Trophy and how you can keep updated on all the action.

COVID-19 Recommendations for bad weather

Further to the recent COVID-19 updates, please find below some tips for when the weather is against us. These should be read in conjunction with the Return to Cricket Step 4 Guidance.

  • Ensure signage and pre-match information to participants is clear
  • Club provide outdoor undercover areas e.g Gazebo, marquee, large tents, canopy, lean-to roof
  • Players, Umpires and Scorers sit in their cars or if sharing in a large car.
  • Place a flat sheet cover over a roll-out net (batting cage) and/or over one or more of permanent nets
  • Use separate areas of the clubhouse for members, players and officials without other covering*
  • Mark areas on sightscreens and roll-on covers for people to push/pull to allow wipe down before and afterwards
  • If little known covering at a ground. Suggest to players they bring an umbrella/coat/jacket as a precaution

*social distancing linked to the club Risk Assessment applies
