Welcome to the Trust’s Winter newsletter and a big Christmas thank you to all our members and supporters. What a fantastic first few months we have had, raising well over £20,000 towards good cricketing causes in Cornwall. See our Grant News section on our website for more details.
Over two-thirds of League clubs are now members of the Trust with an ever growing list of individual and business members. Thanks to all for their support – your generosity is really helping us to Protect Cricket’s Future in the county.
Membership cards are now on their way to our individual members with certificates going out to Club, Association and Business members.
Please tell your friends about the Trust – if they are cricket nuts and would like to join up, the new membership income you help us generate will allow us to fund even more good cricketing causes. What’s more, new members will be able to enjoy some real benefits

The good news is that all members can now Save Money when they shop at the Trust’s Business Partners. Great deals on cricket kit and equipment are available from the Cornish Cricket Company with other Partners also offering discounts, allowing Clubs and Associations to make some real savings on their day to day running costs.
More Partners will be coming along in the next few months so keep a watch on the Supporters section of our web-site.
We are delighted that Cornwall’s own Jake Libby has agreed to become our latest Patron, joining Clive Radley (Middlesex and England) and Liam Norwell (Gloucestershire). Jake has made a great start to his First Class career at Nottinghamshire and we are looking forward to welcoming him, Clive and Liam down to Cornwall for some of our fundraising events next year.
Watch out for news of the Trust’s 2018 events in the coming weeks – members may get the chance to have a net or coaching session with Clive, Jake or Liam, win a signed bat or shirt or attend a top county match.
The generosity of our members and donors has allowed us to make a flying start to our grant award programme – thank you!
We were delighted to be able to work with the Cornwall Schools Cricket Association to ensure that all youngsters selected for an overseas tour to South Africa could make the trip and we are currently looking to provide financial support to around 10 clubs, all of which have submitted grant applications.
Current initiatives include supporting a new academy for girls, women’s and disability cricket at Falmouth CC and we also want to help to fund new nets for a community cricket programme at Hayle CC, a new electronic scorebox at Mount Ambrose CC and some much needed mower repairs at Menheniot-Looe CC. Many more grant applications are in the pipeline.
