Cornwall Cricket Board, with the ECB and Truro Penwith College have taken the opportunity to renovate the Cornwall Cricket Centre.
The Cornwall Cricket Centre has recently passed the 10 year mark and was starting to show signs of wear and tear, so in collaboration with the College and the ECB funding was found to upgrade the indoor facility.
The work has been completed by Andy Aley, Sports Facility Services and they have installed new net runners and internal nets and blinkers.
This work has taken one week to complete at the beginning of April.
Mustafa Shaikh, Cricket Centre Manager has said, “The work is incredible, it looks fantastic and we cant wait for cricket to return from lockdown. I would like to thank the ECB and Truro College for the their input and financial support in making this happen.”
“The Centre was starting to get very tired from a lot of use, so to have this upgrade will allow for another 10 years of quality use. I am extremely grateful to Truro College and the ECB for investing in the centre and Cornwall Cricket. This investment allows cricket to be delivered in the best cricket facility in the South West for a number of years to come benefiting our schools, performance players and club game. We would also like to thank SFS (Sports Facility Services)” Joe Skinner, Chief Cricket Officer
