Have you considered setting up Girls’ or Women’s Cricket?

20th March 2019 Posted in Board and Latest and Women & Girls by Joe Skinner

There is a national focus and a gathering momentum within Cornwall towards growing the women’s and girls’ game.

In 2018 CCB set up for the first time Women’s Softball cricket, which had 11 clubs across the County training and playing softball cricket, some 250 unique women participating, most for the first time. This programme supplements the already defined hardball league which boasts six competing teams.

Not to mention the U13, 15, 17 Girls and Senior Women’s team competing at County level.

In 2019, we have already increased the interest in Women’s Softball to 19 clubs across the county, an increase of 8 in 2018, which is amazing, so there is a softball club near you if you want to play.

Has your club considered setting up a Girls’ or Women’s Section?

The links below are documents that may help you decide to do just that. There are huge benefits to setting up sections from within the club for the club, players, volunteers, support, money, social … the list goes on.

Take a look! One of them is a Case Study from Tunbridge Wells CC.
