ECB have worked with Data Protection lawyers to provide guidance for counties with the introduction of the new GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) that take effect 25th May 2018.
We are not in a position to offer direct advice on legal, commercial or financial matters, however the three summary documents below has been created to highlight the areas you may have to address. We will also follow up shortly with an FAQs document. A summary document each for leagues and clubs will be communicated in the coming weeks.
It is vital that your staff or volunteers responsible for handling data are aware of the updates that may impact your privacy policies, processes for obtaining consent and data storage.
There is a raft of information available online about GDPR, however not all of it is reliable. We recommend viewing information online via the UK’s independent authority, Information Commissioner’s Office. They have also setup a hotline for small businesses which you can reach by phoning 0303 123 1113 and selecting option 4.
